الاكتئاب والقلق حالتان مرَضيتان مختلفتان، إلا أنهما عادةً تحدثان معًا، وتعالَجان أيضًا بعلاجات متشابهة.

عادةً تتحسن أعراض الحالتين بالمعالجة بالمحادثة، التي تُسمى العلاج النفسي، أو الأدوية، مثل مضادات الاكتئاب أو كليهما معًا. وقد تفيد في العلاج أيضًا التغييرات في نمط الحياة لتحسين عادات النوم وزيادة الدعم الاجتماعي وتقليل الضغط وممارسة الرياضة بشكل منتظم. إذا كنت مصابًا بإحدى الحالتين، فتجنب تناوُل الكحول والتبغ والمخدرات الترفيهية، إذ يمكنها أن تؤدي إلى تفاقم هاتين الحالتَين وتعوق العلاج.
