يشعر كل شخص تقريبًا بالألم في العضلات الآن وفيما بعد. يمكن أن يوجد ألم العضلات في منطقة صغيرة من جسمك أو الجسم بأكمله. وقد يتراوح الألم ما بين البسيط إلى الحاد ويقيد الحركة. وقد يحدث ألم العضلات فجأةً أو يتفاقم بمرور الوقت. كذلك قد يتفاقم بعد نشاط أو خلال أوقات معينة من اليوم. وقد تشعر بالألم أو الوجع أو التقلصات المؤلمة أو التيبّس أو الحرقة.

تختفي معظم آلام العضلات وأوجاعها من تلقاء نفسها خلال وقت قصير. ولكن يمكن أن يظل أحيانًا ألم العضلات لشهور. يمكن الشعور بألم العضلات في كل أنحاء الجسم تقريبًا، بما في ذلك رقبتك وظهرك وساقاك وذراعاك وحتى يداك.
