Smoked Gouda poblano turkey burger

Serves 2

Tip: If you can't find smoked Gouda, use another pungent cheese such as havarti, boursin, pepper jack or Asiago.

  1. Roast 1 poblano pepper until blackened.
  2. Chop poblano pepper into small chunks.
  3. Add 1/2 pound ground turkey breast.
  4. Add 1/2 cup dry oats.
  5. Add 1/2 cup chopped onion.
  6. Add 2 ounces smoked Gouda cheese.
  7. Add 1 tablespoon lime juice.
  8. Add 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper.
  9. Add 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt.
  10. Add chopped poblano.
  11. Form 2 4-ounce patties.
  12. Cook for 5 minutes on each side.
  13. Serve on whole-wheat buns.
