Timucin Taner, M.D., Ph.D., is a transplant surgeon within the Transplant Center at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. His primary clinical interests include liver transplantation from both deceased and living donors, liver resection for donation, kidney transplantation, minimally invasive living donor nephrectomy and pediatric liver transplantation. His research focuses on liver transplant immunobiology, investigating the interaction between the liver allografts and the host immune responses. He leads a basic science laboratory research team and oversees several clinical trials aiming at finding new therapies to decrease the reliance on immunosuppression after transplantation.
