Biographical summary
Yazan N. AlJamal, M.B.B.S., is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with expertise in robotic and minimally invasive coronary revascularization. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Medical Education at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. AlJamal received his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology. He completed his general surgery training at the Mayo Clinic and subspecialty training in cardiothoracic surgery at the Mayo Clinic. He also pursued advanced training in robotic and totally endoscopic coronary artery bypass (TECAB) at the University of Chicago.
Dr. AlJamal’s clinical practice focuses on robotic and minimally invasive coronary bypass surgery, off pump beating heart coronary bypass surgery, Valve surgery (including minimally invasive and robotic approaches), and the development of innovative training tools for cardiac surgeons. His research interests include coronary revascularization strategies, multi-arterial grafting, robotic TECAB, robotic valve surgery and surgical simulation for advanced training.
