College Volunteers
College volunteers are age 18 or older and currently enrolled in a college or university. A commitment of two shifts a week for the entire semester (four months minimum) is required.
Minnesota law requires facilities licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) to complete applicant background studies on all individuals who have direct patient contact. This two-step process includes verification of identity, submission of a photograph and fingerprints. In addition, Mayo Clinic also runs a second background check through Certiphi Screening, Inc.
The college volunteer positions are extremely competitive, so not all students who apply and interview will be accepted. Students invited to participate will be placed in service areas based on our program needs.
Volunteering at Mayo Clinic should not be viewed as a means of obtaining employment. If you are seeking a paid position, visit Jobs at Mayo Clinic.
