Biographical summary
Dori Abel, M.D., M.S.H.P., is a board-certified pediatric rheumatologist. Her clinical focus includes:
- Evaluation and care of children with rheumatic and related diseases, including arthritis, lupus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, morphea, periodic fever syndromes, chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis, and various forms of vasculitis
- Training in musculoskeletal ultrasound to enhance diagnosis and provide ultrasound-guided joint injections
- Providing recommendations informed by both clinical experience and current research, while recognizing that the best approach may differ for each individual patient and family
- Building strong, trusting, and collaborative relationships with patients and families to help children with rheumatic diseases live full, meaningful lives
In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Abel’s scholarly interests include healthcare quality and safety, medication adherence, self-management support, and health equity.
