Daniel B. Maselli, M.D., D-ABOM, is a metabolic and bariatric endoscopist and interventional gastroenterologist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Maselli co-leads the Metabolic & Bariatric Endoscopy Program, providing advanced, minimally invasive endoscopic procedures for patients who are affected by obesity and related metabolic conditions. His clinical focus includes innovative endobariatric therapies, such as endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty, gastric fundal mucosal ablation, and small bowel procedures, helping patients achieve weight loss and improved health without surgery. In addition to clinical care, Dr. Maselli contributes to research and education in the fields of therapeutic endoscopy, obesity medicine, and diabetes-related gastrointestinal interventions.

Dr. Maselli is triple board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and obesity medicine. He completed fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology at Mayo Clinic and advanced fellowship in interventional endoscopy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His research focuses on physiologic mechanisms of metabolic and bariatric endoscopy, including combination gastric and small bowel therapies. He is a nationally-recognized leader in metabolic and bariatric endoscopy, with more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters. He serves as principal or sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials that advance endobariatric treatments, participates in expert committees for guidelines in bariatric endoscopy, and routinely trains other physicians in these state-of-the-art procedures.
