Dear Mayo Clinic Patients:
On behalf of Mayo Clinic, I hope you are staying safe and well and taking care of yourself during this challenging time. Mayo Clinic continues to be available to support your health care needs in any way we can. This includes offering expanded telemedicine options, as well as in-person appointments, as allowed by federal and state executive orders and guidance.
Your health and safety is always our top priority. As you know, we temporarily limited appointments on March 23. This allowed us to see patients who needed immediate care and prepare our response for the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have taken several extra precautions to safely offer in-person office visits. We have instituted enhanced cleaning, robust screening, new procedural guidelines and COVID-19 testing strategies to mitigate the risk of transmitting the virus.
You may receive a call from us to reschedule an appointment we placed on hold. Please work with your care team to schedule these appointments, whether in-person or through telemedicine. As always, if you have a medical emergency, you should go to the emergency department and seek help.
Thank you for trusting Mayo Clinic with your health care. I hope that you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy.
Amy W. Williams, M.D.
