Shilpa Mokshagundam, M.D.

  1. Gynecologic Oncologist

Shilpa Mokshagundam, M.D., is a fellowship trained gynecologic oncologist who specializes in both surgical and medical management of patients with gynecologic cancers. Her surgical training includes open surgery as well as minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery. She is trained in administration and management of chemotherapy for patients with gynecologic cancers. Conditions treated are:

  • Newly diagnosed gynecologic cancers (ovarian, fallopian tube, primary peritoneal, uterine, cervical, vaginal, vulvar)
  • Recurrent gynecologic cancers
  • Maintenance therapy and surveillance for patients with a history of gynecologic cancer treated with chemotherapy
  • Complex or potentially cancerous pelvic masses
  • Cancer risk reduction for genetic mutation carriers
  • Bowel obstructions related to gynecologic cancers
  • Large uterine masses and fibroids

Dr. Mokshagundam is passionate about improving the standard of care for patients with gynecologic cancer. Her research interests include surgical fitness for cytoreductive surgery, frailty and malnutrition, quality of life and patient-reported outcomes for patients with ovarian cancer. In addition, she is interested in education and enjoys mentoring medical students and residents.
