Sarika N. Rao, D.O.

Sarika Rao, D.O., is an endocrinologist in the Division of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

She received her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida, followed residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. She then completed an advanced fellowship in oncologic endocrinology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Her clinical focus includes:

• Thyroid cancer (papillary, follicular, medullary and anaplastic)
• Adrenal cancer (metastatic pheochromocytoma or adrenal cortical cancer)
• Benign adrenal/extra-adrenal tumors (pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma, Conn's syndrome, or Cushing's)
• Multiple endocrine neoplasia
• Endocrine complications from cancer or from chemotherapy in the treatment of other cancers.

Dr. Rao is certified in both internal medicine and endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has spoken at several national/international meetings, and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in her niche field of oncologic endocrinology.
