Young Volunteers
IMPORTANT NOTE: Mayo Clinic requires that all volunteers be fully vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus and influenza. Please be prepared to show proof of vaccination status.
The Mayo Clinic Young Volunteers Program provides opportunities in both clinic and hospital settings. The program is open to middle and high school students who are currently age 14 or older. This program is extremely competitive, so not all students who apply and interview will be accepted.
Minnesota law requires facilities licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) to complete applicant background studies on all individuals who have direct patient contact. This two-step process includes verification of identity, submission of a photograph and fingerprints. In addition, Mayo Clinic also runs a second background check through Certiphi Screening, Inc.
