Patricia Garcia, Psy.D., ABPP-CN, L.P., is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist in the Division of Neurocognitive Disorders within the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic. Her clinical practice focuses on the neuropsychological evaluation of adults with acquired and neurodegenerative neurological conditions. She has particular expertise in evaluating multilingual, monolingual non-English-speaking, and culturally diverse patients and in considering how language, literacy, education, and sociocultural background affect neuropsychological performance and interpretation.

Dr. Garcia earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Albizu University in Miami, Florida. She completed an American Psychological Association-accredited psychology internship and postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she trained broadly across neurodegenerative disease, traumatic brain injury, stroke, neuro-oncology, epilepsy, and other neurological conditions.

Dr. Garcia's research examines neuropsychological measurement, cognitive and functional outcomes, and Alzheimer's disease and related dementias biomarkers across diverse populations. She also has experience in community-engaged research and culturally responsive assessment, as well as training and experience applying Agile Science methods to improve programmatic and clinical processes and the inclusion, recruitment, and retention, of historically understudied populations in aging and brain-injury research.
