Vin Shen Ban, M.B.B.S.

Vin Shen Ban, M.B. B.Chir., MSc., is a neurosurgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in skull base and cerebrovascular disorders. He combines multimodal techniques, both open and minimally invasive, in achieving optimal outcomes for his patients. Dr. Ban's practice is constantly evolving with the goal of refining surgical techniques to minimize the surgical footprint on his patients. He is an early adopter of technology and a believer of personalized medicine.

From a scientific standpoint, Dr. Ban's interests include risk prediction modeling for the treatment of cerebrovascular disorders such as aneurysms, AVMs and moyamoya disease. He is working to combine real-world clinical data with patient specific tissue analysis to inform the mechanisms of moyamoya disease and AVMs. Dr. Ban has been involved in several multicenter studies which have resulted in high-impact publications in peer-reviewed journals. He brings scientific discoveries back to the bedside to benefit his patients.

On a national level, Dr. Ban has been active in organized neurosurgery since his days as a junior resident. He is committed towards the education of future leaders in the field as a way of giving back and honoring his mentors. Dr. Ban is also a peer reviewer for multiple journals within neurosurgery and the field of medicine.
