Investigación

Mayo Clinic es parte de un grupo selecto de centros oncológicos en recibir una subvención de Specialized Program of Research Excellence (Programa Especializado de Excelencia en la Investigación, SPORE) patrocinada por National Cancer Institute para llevar a cabo investigaciones sobre el cáncer de cerebro.

El Programa de neurooncología y Mayo Clinic Cancer Center llevan a cabo las investigaciones sobre tumores cerebrales. Mayo Clinic Cancer Center recibe financiamiento de National Cancer Institute, y se lo designó como centro oncológico integral, reconocimiento que se otorga por la excelencia científica y los recursos multidisciplinarios de una institución dedicados a la prevención, el diagnóstico y el tratamiento del cáncer.

The Cancer Nanotechnology and Tumor Immunology Laboratory utiliza técnicas de imágenes de avanzada, nanomedicina, inmunoterapias contra el cáncer y marcadores biológicos para conocer más sobre cánceres sólidos que afectan al cerebro y mejorar el tratamiento para las personas con tumores cerebrales.
