Biographical summary
Dr. David Pearson is a board certified general surgeon who has completed additional advanced training in minimal access and metabolic surgery. His clinical focus includes:
- Expertise in the management of complex abdominal wall hernias, utilizing minimally invasive techniques which speed patient recovery after surgery
- Treatment of chronic obesity by performing minimally invasive sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass, as well as performing revision surgery for patients who suffer from complications of previous bariatric surgery
- Providing definitive surgical treatment for acid reflux (GERD) for patients in whom medical treatments have failed
- Enhanced recovery after bariatric and hernia surgery
- Quality improvement for Mayo Clinic Arizona's hernia care practice
In addition to these clinical activities, Dr. Pearson actively participates in teaching Mayo medical students as well as in training general surgery residents. His focus in these regards is on advanced laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery.
