1. Senescence in Chronic Kidney Disease

   Rochester, Minn.

   To compare the effect of senolytic drugs on cellular senescence, physical ability or frailty, and adipose tissue-derived MSC functionality in patients with chronic kidney disease.
   
   Primary Objectives:
   To assess the efficacy of a single 3-day treatment regimen with dasatinib and quercetin (senolytic drugs) on clearing senescent adipose-derived MSC in patients with CKD.
   
   To assess the efficacy of a single 3-day treatment regimen with dasatinib and quercetin (senolytic drugs) on improving adipose-derived MSC functionality in patients with CKD.
   
   Secondary Objective:
   To assess the short-term effect of a single 3-day treatment regimen with dasatinib and quercetin (senolytic drugs) on frailty index score in patients with CKD.
   
   To assess the short-term effect of a single 3-day treatment regimen with dasatinib and quercetin (senolytic drugs) on kidney function in patients with CKD.
   
   To assess the safety and tolerability of a single 3-day treatment regimen with dasatinib 100 mg daily and quercetin 1000 mg total daily in subjects with CKD.

2. A Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Nicotinamide Riboside and Pterostilbene Treatment to Protect the Kidneys in Patients with Complex Aortic Aneurysm Repair and Aortic Arch Reconstruction

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of Basis™ (Nicotinamide Riboside and Pterostilbene) in preventing acute kidney injury (AKI) among patients undergoing complex aortic aneurysm repair and aortic arch reconstruction.

3. A Study to Evaluate Fertility, Sexual Function, and Endothelial Health in Premenopausal Women with Kidney Disease

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate how advancing stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) may impact the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis,and how alterations in sex hormones and menstrual cycles correlate with changes in endothelial health and sexual function before and after transplant.

4. Biobank Protocol, Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network

   Rochester, Minn.

   This study is being done to obtain samples from patients with primary hyperoxaluria, cystinuria, adenine phosphoribosyl transferase (APRT) deficiency, and Dent disease, and from their family members, for use in future research.

5. A Study of Genes that cause Cystic Kidney Disease

   Rochester, Minn.

   The overall objective of this study is to define genes causing cystic kidney disease and to determine the degree to which variants at these cystic kidney disease genes underlie the clinical diversity of these disorders. This will provide an insight into the disease mechanisms, and explore novel mutation screening methods.  A combination of mutation screening in clinically characterized human cystic kidney disease populations, gene hunting and exploration of incompletely penetrant alleles in humans will provide a comprehensive picture of how mutations cause the resulting phenotype.

6. Effect of RBT-1 on Preconditioning Response Biomarkers in Subjects Undergoing CABG and/or Cardiac Valve Surgery

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of RBT-1 on preconditioning response biomarkers in subjects who are at risk for acute kidney injury (AKI) following cardiac surgery.

7. Obstructive Sleep Apnea Among Somali-Americans

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to advance the understanding of obstructive sleep apnea as it relates to different ethnic origins as well as sex differences. The investigators will compare Somali patients with known obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) to individuals without OSA, and to individuals of other ethnic/racial origins to determine the risk factors (genetic and/or physiologic) associated with developing cardiovascular diseases. This will help the investigators to understand the unique sleep pathology of individuals of African descent.

8. Clazakizumab for the Treatment of Chronic Active Antibody Mediated Rejection in Kidney Transplant Recipients (IMAGINE)

   Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz.

   The purpose of this study is to investigate whether clazakizumab (an anti-interleukin (IL)-6 monoclonal antibody (mAb)) may be beneficial for the treatment of CABMR in recipients of a kidney transplant by inhibiting the production of Donor Specific Antibodies (DSA) and re-shaping T cell alloimmune responses.

9. A Study to Form a Database of Children with Kidney Stone Disease

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to establish a database to collect and analyze information on metabolic and environmental risk factors for kidney stone formation in children.

10. A Study to Evaluate How Semaglutide Works Compared to Placebo in People with Type 2 Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease

    Rochester, Minn.

    The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether or not semaglutide can slow down the growth and worsening of chronic kidney disease in people with type 2 diabetes. Participants will receive semaglutide (active medicine) or placebo ('dummy medicine'). This is known as participants' study medicine - which treatment participants get is decided by chance. Semaglutide is a medicine, doctors can prescribe in some countries for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Participants will get the study medicine in a pen. Participants will use the pen to inject the medicine in a skin fold once a week. The study will close when there is enough information collected to show clear result of the study. The total time participants will be in this study is about 3 to 5 years, but it could be longer.
