Mallory J. Raymond, M.D., is a fellowship-trained Otologist/Neurotologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology (ENT)/Head and Neck Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. She is an expert ear surgeon offering advanced treatment for outer, middle and inner ear disorders. She specializes in cochlear implant surgery, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak repair, and the management of otosclerosis, cholesteatoma, and vestibular schwannomas (also known as acoustic neuromas).

Dr. Raymond earned her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed her residency in Otolaryngology at Emory University, where she served as the chief resident and was awarded the honor of “Resident Teacher of the Year.” She then pursued a fellowship in Otology and Neurotology at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Since joining Mayo Clinic Florida in 2022, Dr. Raymond has been actively involved in the education of medical students and residents. Her research interests include improving cochlear implant outcomes and surgical techniques for skull base tumors and conditions affecting the eustachian tube, as well as, improving ear surgery training methods. She serves as the Otolaryngology Department’s Medical Student Clerkship Director and Residency Advising Director.

Drawn to medicine by her love of science, problem-solving, teaching and helping others, Dr. Raymond found a natural fit in the field of neurotology. “Hearing and the ability to communicate are vital in helping us connect to our surroundings. Restoring these abilities has a tremendous impact on quality of life,” says Dr. Raymond. “The joy my patients experience when they can hear clearly and communicate with their family and friends brings profound meaning to my practice.”

Dr. Raymond takes a patient-centered approach to care and uses the least invasive methods to relieve symptoms. She empowers patients to take an active role in their care, which allows her to tailor treatment plans to each person’s unique needs.

Outside of work, Dr. Raymond enjoys scuba diving, lobstering, running, playing tennis, and spending time with her two children.
