Shounak Majumder, M.D.

Shounak Majumder, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is a board-certified gastroenterologist with fellowship training in medical pancreatology and specializes in the diagnosis and management of complex pancreatic diseases. Dr. Majumder directs Mayo Clinic's High-Risk Pancreas Clinic and leads the Pancreatic Cancer Early Detection Research Program. His clinical expertise includes management of pancreatic cysts, pancreatic cancer, acute and chronic and autoimmune pancreatitis. A particular focus of his practice is pancreatic cancer risk assessment, surveillance, and early detection in high-risk individuals while helping patients with pancreatic conditions navigate complex decisions regarding surveillance, additional diagnostic testing, and the potential need for endoscopic and surgical intervention. He also serves as Associate Chair of Innovation for the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Program Director of the Pancreatology Fellowship Program.

He also serves as Vice Chair of the Pancreatic Disorders Section of the American Gastroenterological Association and is nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise in pancreatic disease.
