Spencer, M.D., is a Senior Associate Consultant in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery specializing in adult cardiac surgery, heart & lung transplantation, and mechanical support. He attended Harvard Medical School and completed training in general and cardiothoracic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. He had subspecialty training in heart and lung transplant and mechanical support at the Duke University Medical Center before joining Mayo Clinic as faculty.
