Biographical summary
Dr. Samine Ravanbakhsh recently joined the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Arizona.
She received her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University. She then completed a general surgery residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center.
Her practice incorporates all aspects of general thoracic surgery, including mediastinal, pulmonary, and esophageal diseases. She has extensive training in a variety of minimally invasive approaches, including thoracoscopy, laparoscopy, and robotic surgery. Her areas of expertise include the management of esophageal diseases, thoracic outlet syndrome, and hyperhidrosis. Dr. Ravanbakhsh aspires to provide the best care to each and every one of her patients, and to optimize their treatments according to their individual needs and goals.
Dr. Ravanbakhsh has a passion for education and mentorship. She is involved in the training of surgical residents and teaching medical students at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. She is actively involved in multiple research projects. She is also an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and Women in Thoracic Surgery.
