Biographical summary
Samip Patel, M.D., FACS is a board-certified Otolaryngologist-Head & Neck Surgery with expertise in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction. He is also an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery. He completed his fellowship in Head & Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto following the completion of an Otolaryngology residency at the University of South Florida. He completed medical school at Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio.
Dr. Patel was previously the Chief for the Division of Head & Neck Surgical Oncology at the University of North Carolina Department of Otolaryngology. He was the medical director of the Head & Neck Surgical Oncology Clinic at the North Carolina Cancer Center at UNC as well. He has over 3 dozen publications since graduating fellowship in 2013 and is a renowned educator among academic
otolaryngologists both in and out of the Mayo Enterprise.
His clinical focus includes:
    - Transoral robotic surgery/transoral laser surgery
- HPV related tonsil and base of tongue cancer
- Microvascular reconstructive surgery of the head and neck
