Mayo Clinic physicians are committed to collaborating with referring physicians. Telephone consultations and referrals may be arranged by contacting the Referring Physician Service. The office is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

eConsults

Treating providers can request an eConsult through Orders Entry for straightforward advice on next steps for occupational management, such as setting work restrictions for an employee with a medical condition.

For more complex cases, the occupational medicine consult may recommend an in-person or virtual visit for further assessment. Referring providers can request ongoing management of such cases through a clinical encounter and subsequent follow-up for that episode of care by placing a consult to Occupational Medicine.
