Joshua Bakhsheshian, M.D., M.H.A., is a neurosurgeon with combined orthopedic and neurologic spine surgery fellowship training in minimally invasive, robotic, endoscopic and complex spinal surgery in the treatment of spinal disorders. Dr. Bakhsheshian completed his neurosurgery residency with an enfolded fellowship in minimally invasive and complex spinal surgery at Keck School of Medicine and Los Angeles County Medical Center of University of Southern California. Subsequently, he completed a comprehensive adult and pediatric spine surgery fellowship at Columbia University and at Weill Cornell Medical Centers (New York-Presbyterian Och Spine Hospital).

Dr. Bakhsheshian obtained a wide array of skillsets from his interdisciplinary subspecialty training, which allows him to provide a truly individualized treatment approach uniquely tailored to each of his patients. His clinical expertise includes cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine operations utilizing minimally invasive, robotic, or motion-preserving techniques, as well as complex deformity operations in adult and adolescent patients for both spinal deformity and spine tumor surgery.

Dr. Bakhsheshian is an Assistant Professor, Director of Robotic Spine Surgery and Clinical Spine Surgery Research in the Department of Neurosurgery. He is a surgeon-scientist actively involved in data analytics, outcomes research and the development of safer surgical techniques to advance evidence-based spine care. Dr. Bakhsheshian is the recipient of several national research grants and has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed research publications, abstracts, and textbook chapters.
