في إطار تصنيفه بأنه مركز متكامل لعلاج السرطان ومعتمد من المعهد الوطني للسرطان، يواصل مركز مايو كلينك الشامل للسرطان فتح آفاق جديدة في مجال أبحاث السرطان، ومنها استخدام المعالجة الكيميائية الحرارية داخل الصفاق لعلاج حالات سرطان المعدة والبنكرياس. كما يعمل جرّاحو مايو كلينك على تطوير أساليب استخدام الجراحة الروبوتية في جراحات الاختزال الخلوي، إذ تساعد الجراحة الروبوتية غالبًا في تقليل فترة الإقامة بالمستشفى وتسريع وتيرة التعافي لدى الكثير من المرضى.
