الأبحاث

Mayo Clinic researchers are studying new ways to diagnose and treat advanced stomach cancer. Research areas include:

  • Targeted treatments. Researchers are studying newer targeted approaches, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), which link an antibody to a cancer-killing medicine.
  • New immune-based treatments. Researchers are studying medicines called bispecific antibodies. These medicines can attach to two different targets at once and may help immune cells recognize and attack stomach cancer cells.
  • Cancer that has spread to the peritoneum. Researchers are studying better ways to prevent and treat stomach cancer that spreads to the peritoneum. Approaches include minimally invasive surgery, chemotherapy delivered directly into the abdomen and immunotherapy. Researchers also are studying how to predict who is most likely to benefit from these treatments. This may help make treatment more personalized.
  • Predicting treatment response. Mayo Clinic researchers are studying tumor tissue and biomarkers to better understand why some cancers respond to treatment and others do not. Mayo Clinic also participates in clinical trials of new treatments for advanced and metastatic stomach cancer.
