Biographical summary
Jacob Orme, M.D., Ph.D., is a genitourinary medical oncologist and translational physician scientist who works in the clinic and the laboratory to make cancer care better for his patients. Dr. Orme discovered the source and consequence of soluble PD-L1 in immunotherapy-resistant cancers as well as a novel biomarker "switch" in advanced highly-resistant prostate cancers. These discoveries have led to the development of multiple new experimental therapeutics and clinical trials. Dr. Orme has received awards from Mayo Clinic, the Minnesota Society of Clinical Oncology, the National Institutes of Health, and the Prostate Cancer Foundation to support his work.
