Aakriti R. Carrubba, M.D., is a Senior Associate Consultant in the Department of Medical and Surgical Gynecology. Dr. Carrubba has completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Florida, and she is committed to providing minimally invasive options for patients in order to shorten recovery time and return to normal activity. She is an active member of AAGL (American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists) and has attended several workshops on robotic surgery implementation.
Dr. Carrubba focuses on management of:
- Abnormal uterine bleeding
- Fibroids
- Endometriosis
- Chronic pelvic pain
- Menopause management, among others
Examples of procedures she performs regularly include hysteroscopy, conventional laparoscopy and robotic surgery, hysterectomy, myomectomy, and endometriosis excision. Her clinical interests are novel and comprehensive treatments for chronic pelvic pain, surgical education programs for trainees, and health disparities research.
