Mayo Clinic's Cancer Education Center offers education and support for cancer patients and their families and friends.
  • Collaboration. At Mayo Clinic, dermatologists, pathologists, surgeons, plastic surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists work as a multidisciplinary team to provide whole-person care for those with skin cancer. Other professionals are included as needed.
  • Experience. Mayo Clinic doctors have experience diagnosing and treating all types of skin cancer, including common and rare types of the disease.
  • Access to the latest. Mayo Clinic doctors and scientists are actively involved in skin cancer research. This gives you the opportunity to participate in clinical trials investigating the latest in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • A full range of treatment options to consider. Mayo Clinic doctors will work with you to review all of your treatment options and choose the treatment that best suits your needs and goals.

    The range of treatments offered to people with skin cancer includes a variety of surgical procedures, including biopsies, wide excisions, Mohs surgery, more-extensive operations and plastic surgery. Other treatments, such as chemotherapy, biological therapy, photodynamic therapy and radiation therapy also are available.

  • Comprehensive cancer center. Mayo Clinic Cancer Center meets strict standards for a National Cancer Institute comprehensive cancer center, which recognizes scientific excellence and a multidisciplinary approach to cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Mayo Clinic works with hundreds of insurance companies and is an in-network provider for millions of people.

In most cases, Mayo Clinic doesn't require a physician referral. Some insurers require referrals, or may have additional requirements for certain medical care. All appointments are prioritized on the basis of medical need.
