Gianrico Farrugia, M.D., on quality at Mayo Clinic

We are honored to be again recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the No. 1 hospital, now for five consecutive years. Mayo Clinic is additionally the only health care organization that is consistently ranked among the top providers nationwide by a variety of rating agencies that measure quality. We are grateful for this recognition as we know patients and their families turn to rankings like these when they are deciding where to go for care, and we do want them to come to Mayo Clinic for their complex or serious care.

The number one ranking by U.S. News is a tribute to the incredible work of our staff because it recognizes both our medical expertise and our commitment to compassionate, individualized and innovative care. Every day we strive to bring hope, healing and joy to patients especially during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.

U.S. News ranks Mayo Clinic as No.1 in more specialties than any other provider and that's important because patients with serious or complex illnesses need multiple experts to come together quickly to find answers for them. More than a million people from all 50 states and 140 countries turn to Mayo Clinic for diagnosis and treatment annually, often when they haven't found answers elsewhere. And, within moments of interacting with our staff, in person or virtually, patients often say they can sense a difference and that gives them new hope.

Mayo Clinic's destination sites also ranked No. 1 in Minnesota, Arizona and Florida. Special congratulations to all our staff especially for their perseverance and commitment to providing high-quality, safe care during the COVID-19 crisis. As we look to the future we commit to lead the transformation of healthcare and continue to work together with our partners on behalf of patients to compassionately and consistently deliver the best possible integrated health care.

Mayo Clinic is top-ranked for quality more often than any other health care organization.

These endorsements reinforce Mayo Clinic's commitment to provide the highest quality care to each patient every day. Although no single set of measures can perfectly represent health care quality, Mayo Clinic is proud to be recognized.
