Biographical summary
Dr. Timothy Woodward is a consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Department of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Florida. He joined the staff of the Mayo Clinic in 1994 and holds the academic rank of professor of medicine, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
Dr. Woodward earned his B.A. at Harvard University and his M.D. at Mayo clinic Alix School of Medicine, completing his residency and research oncology year at University of Virginia. He subsequently served as a public health physician at Charity Hospital for Tulane University. His gastroenterology fellowship was completed at University of California, San Diego and he was selected as a Mayo Scholar in GI Oncology
fellow at MD Anderson.
Dr. Woodward's expertise is in GI Oncology. As a founder of the advanced endoscopy practice at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, his practice incorporates evaluation and management of problems related to the
luminal manifestations of malignancy. This includes issues derived directly from cancers such as tumor-related dysphagia, anemias and paraneoplastic manifestations of gastrointestinal disorders, as well as GI sequalae of cancer treatment. He is the author of more than two hundred publications, book chapters and has been a lecturer both nationally and internationally.
