معدلات النجاة

إذا اكتُشف سرطان الشرج وهو ما يزال صغيرًا ولم ينتشر، يمكن علاج أغلب الأشخاص بنجاح حيث يمكنهم العيش لسنوات عديدة والحفاظ على التحكم في عادات التغوّط في أغلب الحالات. ومع نمو السرطان بشكل أعمق في جدار الشرج أو انتشاره إلى أجزاء أخرى من الجسم، تصبح فرصة الشفاء منه أقل.

إحصاءات البقاء على قيد الحياة

ولمعرفة معدلات البقاء على قيد الحياة، يدرس الخبراء عددًا كبيرًا من المرضى الذين يتلقون علاجًا لسرطان الشرج، ثم يبلغون عن عدد من ما يزالون على قيد الحياة بعد خمس سنوات من التشخيص.

يعتقد كثير من الناس أن معدلات البقاء على قيد الحياة لسرطان الشرج تُبلّغ وفق مراحل مرقّمة من 1 إلى 4. لكن المعهد الوطني للسرطان في الولايات المتحدة يعتمد في الإبلاغ عن معدلات البقاء على قيد الحياة على مدى انتشار السرطان. ويُعرف هذا بتصنيف مراحل السرطان التلخيصي، وتندرج تحته ثلاث فئات: سرطان الشرج الموضعي، والمناطقي، والمنتشر إلى أعضاء بعيدة.

المرحلة معدل البقاء على قيد الحياة لمدة خمس سنوات
السرطان الموضعي: يكون السرطان محدودًا في منطقة الشرج فقط. 85%
السرطان المناطقي: يكون السرطان قد انتشر إلى الأنسجة المجاورة والعُقَد اللمفية. 70%
السرطان المنتشر: يكون السرطان قد انتشر إلى أعضاء بعيدة مثل الكبد أو الرئتين. 36%
