Emmanuel M. Gabriel, M.D., Ph.D., is a double board-certified surgical oncologist at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He specializes in complex cancer surgery, with expertise in regional cancer therapies and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Dr. Gabriel provides specialized surgical care for:

• Breast cancer and benign breast disease, including nipple-sparing mastectomy
• Melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers
• Sarcoma
• Endocrine and neuroendocrine cancers

Education and training

Dr. Gabriel earned his M.D. and Ph.D. in Immunology from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where his doctoral research focused on regulatory T cells, tumor-associated antigens and cancer immunotherapy. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he served as administrative chief resident. Dr. Gabriel then completed a fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology and a postdoctoral research fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He is board-certified in general surgery and complex general surgical oncology by the American Board of Surgery.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Gabriel enjoys going to the beach, cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars and spending time with family.
