Biographical summary
Oluwaseun O. Akinduro, M.D. is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon at Mayo Clinic in Florida and Director of Spinal Oncology, specializing in the comprehensive care of patients with complex spinal diseases and tumors. His practice focuses on the treatment of metastatic spine cancer, spinal chordoma, spinal sarcoma, disk herniations, spinal instability, and other challenging degenerative and oncologic conditions affecting the spinal column and central nervous system.
Dr. Akinduro earned his medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine and completed his neurosurgical residency at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, where he developed advanced expertise in spinal and oncologic neurosurgery. He went on to complete a highly specialized fellowship in Complex Spine and Spinal Oncology at Brown University, further refining his skills in managing both primary and metastatic spinal tumors.
In his clinical practice, Dr. Akinduro is known for applying innovative surgical approaches tailored to each patient's condition and goals. His expertise includes minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery, as well as advanced techniques for treating intradural spine tumors and complex spinal malignancies. Dr. Akinduro's research program focuses on the development of targeted therapies for spinal cancers as well as the use of Artificial Intelligence to improve care for patients with complex spinal disorders.
