Dan S. Childs, M.D.

Daniel S. Childs, M.D., FACP, is a board-certified medical oncologist, specializing in advanced prostate and other genitourinary cancers.

Dr. Childs is committed to partnering closely with patients and families. His approach emphasizes thoughtful treatment selection, symptom management, and ensuring that each patient understands their options — including opportunities to participate in innovative clinical trials.  Dr. Childs is an accomplished clinical investigator and leads multiple investigator-initiated and industry sponsored trials.  He has opened early-access and first-in-U.S. studies, ensuring patients have access to the most cutting-edge therapies.

His research combines precision oncology and symptom science, aiming to improve survival and quality of life. His work has been supported by foundation and industry funding and has resulted in publications in leading journals such as Journal of Clinical Oncology, JAMA Oncology, Journal of Nuclear Medicine, and Nature Communications.

Dr. Childs is an internationally invited speaker on advanced prostate cancer, member of Prostate Cancer Working Group 4, Chair of Hospital Practice for the Department of Oncology, and Program Director for the Advanced Oncology Fellowship. He has received numerous honors for excellence in patient care and education, including Teacher of the Year in Medical Oncology for 3 consecutive years and the Top Performing Provider Patient Experience Award (99th percentile) for five consecutive years.
