Olayemi (Yemi) Sokumbi, M.D., is a dermatologist and dermatopathologist. Her clinical focus includes:

  • Quality of life improvement in dermatologic diseases
  • Utility of deep neural network algorithms for diagnosis in dermatology and dermatopathology
  • Utilizing clinical-pathologic correlation to optimize diagnostic accuracy
  • Clinical-pathologic correlation of challenging inflammatory skin disorders
  • Management of hidradenitis suppurativa
  • Diagnosis of benign and malignant cutaneous tumors
  • Providing dermatologic care for hospitalized patients
  • Health care disparities in dermatologic care

In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Sokumbi is actively involved in medical student and resident education. Her research interests include quality improvement in dermatopathology, effective dermatopathology resident education, diagnosis and management of dysplastic nevi and cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorders.
