Biographical summary
Cristina A. Cruz Cortes, M.D., is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty expertise in headache and facial pain medicine.
Dr. Cruz Cortes completed her neurology residency training at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where she developed a strong foundation in the diagnosis and management of neurological disorders. She then pursued advanced fellowship training in Headache and Facial Pain Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
A native of Puerto Rico, Dr. Cruz Cortes earned her medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine and her undergraduate degree from the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez.
Dr. Cruz Cortes’s clinical practice focuses on the acute and preventive management of headache and facial pain disorders, including migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, among others. Dr. Cruz Cortes is also bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve a diverse patient population.
