Biographical summary
Adam R. Cassidy, Ph.D., L.P., A.B.P.P., is a board-certified pediatric neuropsychologist with particular expertise in congenital heart disease and global health. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.
Dr. Cassidy attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota's Institute of Child Development. He completed his predoctoral internship in lifespan neuropsychology at the Emory School of Medicine/Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and his postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at Boston Children's Hospital, where he worked as faculty for about 8 years before coming to Mayo.
Dr. Cassidy's clinical practice focuses on the neuropsychological assessment of children, adolescents, and young adults with complex medical conditions, particularly those with complex cardiac histories. His research interests include: characterizing and optimizing neurodevelopmental and psychosocial outcomes in children with congenital heart disease; neurodevelopmental and psychosocial outcomes in children exposed in utero to HIV and antiretroviral medications, with a particular focus on children living in sub-Saharan Africa.
