Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. back, leg, or stomach pain
  3. black, tarry stools
  4. bleeding gums
  5. blood in the urine or stools
  6. blurred vision
  7. cold, clammy skin
  8. confusion
  9. cough
  10. dark urine
  11. decrease in how much or how often you urinate
  12. difficulty breathing
  13. difficulty sleeping
  14. difficulty urinating
  15. disturbed coordination
  16. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  17. double vision
  18. drowsiness to profound loss of consciousness
  19. excessive sweating and chills
  20. excitation
  21. false or unusual sense of well-being
  22. fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  23. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  24. fever with or without chills
  25. general body swelling
  26. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  27. headache
  28. hoarseness
  29. irritability
  30. loss of appetite
  31. lower back or side pain
  32. mood or other mental changes
  33. nausea
  34. nervousness
  35. nosebleed
  36. painful or difficult urination
  37. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  38. relaxed and calm feeling
  39. restlessness
  40. seeing double
  41. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  42. seizures
  43. sensation of spinning
  44. sleepiness
  45. sore throat
  46. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  47. stuffy nose
  48. thickening of bronchial secretions
  49. tightness of the chest
  50. tremor
  51. unusual bleeding or bruising
  52. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness
  53. vomiting
  54. yellowing of the eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  2. dry mouth, throat, or nose
  3. increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight
  4. itching, skin rash
  5. redness or other discoloration of the skin
  6. severe sunburn
