Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

  1. Agitation
  2. back pain
  3. black, tarry stools
  4. bleeding from the rectum or bloody stools
  5. bleeding gums
  6. blood in the urine
  7. bloody nose
  8. blurred vision
  9. change in consciousness
  10. chest tightness
  11. cloudy urine
  12. collection of blood under the skin
  13. confusion
  14. confusion as to time, place, or person
  15. constipation
  16. coughing or spitting up blood
  17. decreased urine output
  18. deep, dark purple bruise
  19. depressed mood
  20. depression
  21. difficulty in swallowing
  22. dilated neck veins
  23. dizziness
  24. drowsiness
  25. dry skin and hair
  26. enlarged pupils
  27. feeling cold
  28. fever
  29. hair loss
  30. heavy nonmenstrual vaginal bleeding
  31. hoarseness or husky voice
  32. holding false beliefs that cannot be changed by fact
  33. hostility
  34. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  35. increased sensitivity of the eyes to light
  36. increased sweating, possibly with fever or cold, clammy skin
  37. irregular breathing
  38. irregular heartbeat
  39. irritability
  40. itching
  41. lethargy
  42. loss of consciousness
  43. muscle cramps, stiffness, twitching
  44. nausea
  45. nervousness
  46. nosebleeds
  47. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  48. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  49. pains in the chest, groin, or legs, especially calves of the legs
  50. paralysis
  51. pounding in the ears
  52. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  53. red or dark brown urine
  54. red or black, tarry stools
  55. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  56. seizures
  57. sensitivity to heat
  58. severe chest pain
  59. severe headache
  60. slow or fast heartbeat
  61. sore throat
  62. stiff or sore neck
  63. stupor
  64. sudden loss of coordination
  65. sudden onset of slurred speech
  66. sudden onset of trouble breathing for no apparent reason
  67. sudden vision changes
  68. swelling of the face, fingers, feet, or lower legs
  69. trouble breathing
  70. trouble healing
  71. trouble sleeping
  72. unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness
  73. unusual tiredness or weakness
  74. voice changes
  75. vomiting
  76. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
  77. weight gain or loss

Incidence not known

  1. Bloating
  2. chills
  3. dark urine
  4. diarrhea
  5. indigestion
  6. loss of appetite
  7. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  8. stomach cramps, pain, or tenderness
  9. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Blistering, crusting, irritation, itching, or reddening of the skin
  2. blistering, peeling, loosening of the skin
  3. cracked, dry, scaly skin
  4. cough
  5. decreased appetite
  6. dry, flaky, scaling skin on the scalp, eyebrows, near the ears, and around the nose
  7. increased sensitivity of skin to sunlight
  8. joint or muscle pain
  9. lack or loss of strength
  10. rash with flat lesions or small raised lesions on the skins
  11. red, irritated eyes
  12. redness or other discoloration of skin
  13. severe sunburn
  14. skin rash, encrusted, scaly and oozing
  15. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  16. swelling
  17. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
