Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Dizziness
  2. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  3. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  4. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  5. uncontrolled eye movements

Less common

  1. Attack, assault, or force
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. chest pain
  4. chills
  5. cough
  6. cough producing mucus
  7. diarrhea
  8. difficult or painful urination
  9. difficulty with breathing
  10. dizziness or lightheadedness
  11. fear or nervousness
  12. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  13. fever
  14. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  15. headache
  16. joint pain
  17. loss of appetite
  18. muscle aches and pains
  19. nausea
  20. pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
  21. rash
  22. restlessness
  23. sensation of spinning
  24. shakiness and unsteady walk
  25. shivering
  26. sore throat
  27. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  28. stuffy or runny nose
  29. sweating
  30. swollen glands
  31. tightness in the chest
  32. trouble sitting still
  33. trouble sleeping
  34. trouble walking
  35. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  36. unusual bleeding or bruising
  37. unusual tiredness or weakness
  38. vomiting

Rare

  1. Bleeding gums
  2. blood in the urine or stools
  3. burning while urinating
  4. fainting
  5. frequent urination
  6. inability to hold urine
  7. increased urge to urinate during the night
  8. increased volume of pale, dilute urine
  9. lower back or side pain
  10. pale skin
  11. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  12. pounding, slow heartbeat
  13. sore tongue
  14. swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands in the neck, armpit, or groin
  15. troubled breathing with exertion
  16. waking to urinate at night

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. double vision
  3. seeing double

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. back pain
  3. belching
  4. change in hearing
  5. decreased appetite
  6. difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  7. ear drainage
  8. earache or pain in the ear
  9. heartburn
  10. indigestion
  11. itching skin
  12. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  13. upper abdominal or stomach pain

Rare

  1. Increased appetite
