Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. skin rash

Less common

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain (severe)
  2. belching
  3. bone pain
  4. cramping of the stomach
  5. trouble swallowing

Rare

  1. Red, sore eyes

Incidence not known

  1. Bone, joint, or muscle pain, severe and occasionally incapacitating
  2. chest pain
  3. heartburn
  4. pain or burning in the throat
  5. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or tongue or inside the mouth
  6. vomiting

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Confusion
  2. convulsions
  3. difficulty with breathing
  4. irregular heartbeats
  5. muscle cramps in the hands, arms, feet, legs, or face
  6. numbness and tingling around the mouth, fingertips, or feet
  7. shortness of breath
  8. tremor

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. cough or hoarseness
  3. diarrhea
  4. fever or chills
  5. headache
  6. joint pain
  7. lower back or side pain
  8. painful or difficult urination

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. bladder pain
  3. bloody or cloudy urine
  4. blurred vision or change in vision
  5. body aches or pains
  6. congestion
  7. constipation
  8. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  9. difficulty with moving
  10. dizziness
  11. dry eyes
  12. dryness or soreness of the throat
  13. frequent urge to urinate
  14. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  15. indigestion
  16. leg cramps
  17. muscle pain or stiffness
  18. nausea
  19. nervousness
  20. pain, swelling, or redness in the joints
  21. pounding in the ears
  22. ringing in the ears
  23. runny nose
  24. slow or fast heartbeat
  25. stomach discomfort or upset
  26. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  27. tender swollen glands in the neck
  28. voice changes
  29. weakness

Rare

  1. Fainting
  2. fear
  3. itching skin
  4. loss of appetite
  5. pale skin
  6. passing of gas
  7. redness, swelling, or soreness of the tongue
  8. sneezing
  9. stomach fullness
  10. tightness in the chest
  11. troubled breathing
  12. troubled breathing with exertion
  13. unusual bleeding or bruising
  14. unusual tiredness or weakness
  15. wheezing

Incidence not known

  1. Eye pain
  2. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  3. muscle pain
  4. redness of the eye
  5. sensitivity of the eye to light
  6. skin blisters
  7. tearing

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
