Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bleeding gums
  2. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  3. collection of blood under the skin
  4. coughing up blood
  5. deep, dark purple bruise
  6. difficulty in breathing or swallowing
  7. dizziness
  8. feeling of heat
  9. flushing, redness of the skin
  10. hard lump
  11. headache
  12. hives or welts, itching, skin rash
  13. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  14. irritation
  15. nosebleeds
  16. pain
  17. paralysis
  18. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  19. red or black, tarry stools
  20. red or dark brown urine
  21. swelling
  22. unusually warm skin

Rare

  1. Chest tightness
  2. chills
  3. cold sweats
  4. confusion
  5. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position
  6. fainting
  7. fast heartbeat
  8. swelling around the eyes
  9. weakness

Incidence not known

  1. Cough
  2. feeling of fullness
  3. pain in the left upper stomach or around the left shoulder
  4. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  5. stomach pain
  6. unusual tiredness or weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bloated feeling
  2. diarrhea
  3. difficulty in moving
  4. excess air or gas in the stomach or bowels
  5. joint pain
  6. muscle pain or stiffness
  7. nausea
  8. passing gas
  9. trouble sleeping
  10. vomiting

Less common

  1. Belching
  2. bone pain
  3. difficulty having a bowel movement
  4. dry mouth
  5. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  6. heartburn
  7. increased sweating
  8. indigestion
  9. pressure in the stomach
  10. stomach discomfort or upset
  11. swelling of the abdominal or stomach area

Incidence not known

  1. Abnormal dreams and nightmares

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
