Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. bloody or cloudy urine
  3. bloody nose
  4. changes in the fingernails or toenails
  5. confusion
  6. decreased urination
  7. diarrhea
  8. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  9. difficulty in breathing
  10. dry eyes
  11. dry mouth
  12. eye redness, irritation, or pain
  13. frequent urge to urinate
  14. increase in heart rate
  15. irregular heartbeats
  16. lightheadedness, dizziness, fainting
  17. loosening of the fingernails
  18. loss of appetite
  19. lower back or side pain
  20. mood or mental changes
  21. muscle cramps in the hands, arms, feet, legs, or face
  22. numbness and tingling around the mouth, fingertips, or feet
  23. pain in the bones
  24. pale skin
  25. rapid breathing
  26. redness or soreness around the fingernails
  27. seeing flashes or sparks of light
  28. seeing floating spots before the eyes, or a veil or curtain across part of your vision
  29. seizures
  30. stomach cramps
  31. sunken eyes
  32. swelling of the hands, ankles, feet, or lower legs
  33. thirst
  34. tremor
  35. unusual bleeding or bruising
  36. unusual tiredness or weakness
  37. unusual weight loss
  38. wrinkled skin

Less common

  1. Pain or swelling in the arms or legs without any injury

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  4. changes in taste
  5. constipation
  6. difficulty in moving
  7. dry skin
  8. hair loss
  9. heartburn
  10. indigestion
  11. loss of taste
  12. nausea
  13. pain in the joints
  14. rapid weight gain
  15. redness, swelling, pain of the skin
  16. scaling of the skin on the hands and feet
  17. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  18. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  19. ulceration of the skin
  20. vomiting
