Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Chest pain
  2. chills
  3. cough
  4. fever
  5. hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there)
  6. headache
  7. shortness of breath, troubled breathing, tightness in chest, and/or wheezing
  8. skin rash, hives, itching, or redness
  9. sores, ulcers, or white spots on lips or in mouth
  10. swollen and/or painful glands
  11. unusual bruising or bleeding
  12. unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. diarrhea
  3. fainting
  4. fast, pounding irregular heartbeat or pulse
  5. glaucoma
  6. joint or muscle pain
  7. nausea
  8. numbness or tingling of face, hands, or feet
  9. redness and soreness of eyes
  10. swelling of feet or lower legs
  11. vomiting

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of Overdose

  1. Blurred vision
  2. confusion, delirium, or hallucinations
  3. constipation
  4. difficult urination
  5. drowsiness
  6. dry eyes, mouth, nose, or throat
  7. eye pain
  8. flushing or redness of face
  9. troubled breathing

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common or rare

  1. Dizziness or lightheadedness
  2. excitement, irritability, nervousness, or restlessness
  3. headache
  4. muscle weakness
  5. unusually large pupils of eyes

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. deep or fast breathing with dizziness
  3. itching skin
  4. mental confusion
  5. numbness of feet, hands and around mouth
  6. trembling or shaking of hands or feet shakiness in legs, arms, hands, or feet

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
