Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blistering, peeling, loosening of the skin
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. blurred vision or other change in vision
  6. chest pain or tightness
  7. chills
  8. cloudy urine
  9. confusion
  10. cough
  11. cracks in the skin
  12. decreased urine
  13. diarrhea
  14. difficulty in moving
  15. difficulty with swallowing
  16. dizziness
  17. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  18. dry mouth
  19. eye pain
  20. fast heartbeat
  21. fever
  22. greatly decreased frequency of urination or amount of urine
  23. hives, itching, or skin rash
  24. increased thirst
  25. joint or muscle pain
  26. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  27. loss of heat from the body
  28. mood or mental changes
  29. muscle aches, cramps, pains, or stiffness
  30. muscle cramps in the hands, arms, feet, legs, or face
  31. numbness and tingling around the mouth, fingertips, or feet
  32. painful or difficult urination
  33. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  34. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips or tongue
  35. red, irritated eyes
  36. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  37. red, swollen skin
  38. scaly skin
  39. seizures
  40. sensitivity of the eye to light
  41. severe stomach cramps and pain
  42. sore throat
  43. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  44. stomach tenderness
  45. sweating
  46. swelling of the breasts or breast soreness in both females and males
  47. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  48. tearing
  49. trembling
  50. trouble breathing
  51. unusual bleeding or bruising
  52. unusual tiredness or weakness
  53. watery and severe diarrhea, which may also be bloody

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Headache

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. back pain
  3. belching
  4. change or loss of taste
  5. difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  6. heartburn
  7. indigestion
  8. itching of the vagina or genitals
  9. loss of appetite
  10. stomach discomfort or upset
  11. thick, white vaginal discharge with mild or no odor
  12. trouble sleeping

Incidence not known

  1. Change in taste bad unusual or unpleasant (after) taste
  2. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in ears
  3. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  4. dry skin
  5. hair loss or thinning of the hair
  6. hearing loss
  7. inability to have or keep an erection
  8. increased sweating
  9. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
