Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. agitation
  3. blurred vision
  4. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  5. chest pain or discomfort
  6. clay-colored stools
  7. cold sweats
  8. confusion about identity, place, and time false beliefs that cannot be changed by facts
  9. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears
  10. decreased urination
  11. depression
  12. difficulty in passing urine (dribbling)
  13. difficulty with speaking
  14. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  15. double vision
  16. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  17. feeling of warmth
  18. feeling, seeing, or hearing things that are not there
  19. feeling that others are watching you or controlling your behavior
  20. feeling that others can hear your thoughts
  21. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  22. hostility
  23. hyperventilation
  24. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  25. inability to speak
  26. irritability
  27. loss of balance control
  28. lower back or side pain
  29. mood or mental changes
  30. muscle spasm or jerking of all extremities
  31. muscle trembling, jerking, or stiffness
  32. nightmares
  33. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  34. painful or difficult urination
  35. panic
  36. perspiration
  37. pinpoint red or purple spots on the skin
  38. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  39. restlessness
  40. seizures
  41. slurred speech
  42. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  43. stiffness of the limbs
  44. sweating
  45. swelling of the face, ankles, legs, or hands
  46. talking, feeling, and acting with excitement
  47. trouble sleeping
  48. twisting movements of the body uncontrolled movements, especially of the face, neck, and back
  49. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Incidence not known

  1. Bigger, dilated, or enlarged pupils (black part of the eye)
  2. black tongue
  3. decreased interest in sexual ability or desire
  4. difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  5. enlargement of the breast
  6. hair loss or thinning of the hair
  7. heartburn
  8. hives or welts
  9. increase in sexual ability or desire
  10. increased sensitivity of the eyes or skin to light
  11. pain or discomfort in the chest, upper stomach, or throat
  12. peculiar taste
  13. severe sunburn
  14. small red or purple spots on the skin
  15. swelling of the testicles
  16. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  17. swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands on side of face or neck
  18. vision changes
  19. waking to urinate at night
