Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Aggressiveness
  2. agitation
  3. anxiety
  4. choking
  5. confusion
  6. decreased awareness or responsiveness
  7. decreased urine output
  8. difficulty walking, speaking, or writing
  9. discouragement
  10. dizziness
  11. feeling sad or empty
  12. fever
  13. headache
  14. irritability
  15. lack of appetite
  16. loss of bladder or bowel control
  17. loss of consciousness
  18. loss of interest or pleasure
  19. memory loss
  20. muscle twitching
  21. nausea
  22. nightmares or unusually vivid dreams
  23. rapid weight gain
  24. seizures
  25. severe sleepiness
  26. strong urge to urinate
  27. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  28. thirst
  29. trouble concentrating
  30. trouble sleeping
  31. trouble breathing
  32. unable to speak
  33. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Agitation
  2. changes in patterns and rhythms of speech
  3. confusion
  4. excitement
  5. irritability
  6. lack of coordination
  7. loss of strength or energy
  8. muscle pain or weakness
  9. relaxed and calm feeling
  10. restlessness
  11. shakiness and unsteady walk
  12. slurred speech
  13. talkativeness
  14. trouble in speaking
  15. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  16. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness
  17. unusual weak feeling

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site

Rare

  1. Muscle stiffness

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
