Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blindness
  3. bloating
  4. bloody vomit
  5. blurred vision
  6. bone pain
  7. change in vision
  8. chest pain or tightness
  9. chills
  10. confusion
  11. constipation
  12. cough
  13. dark urine
  14. darkening of the skin
  15. decrease in height
  16. decrease in the amount of urine
  17. decreased range of motion
  18. decreased vision
  19. diarrhea
  20. difficulty in swallowing
  21. dilated neck veins
  22. dizziness or lightheadedness
  23. dry mouth
  24. extreme tiredness or weakness
  25. eye pain
  26. eye tearing
  27. eyeballs bulge out of the eye sockets
  28. fainting
  29. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  30. fever
  31. flushed, dry skin
  32. fruit-like breath odor
  33. full or bloated feeling
  34. headache
  35. heartburn
  36. hives, itching, skin rash
  37. impaired wound healing
  38. increased hunger
  39. increased thirst
  40. increased urination
  41. indigestion
  42. irregular breathing
  43. irregular heartbeat
  44. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  45. limp
  46. loss of appetite
  47. loss of consciousness
  48. lower back or side pain
  49. mental depression
  50. mood changes
  51. muscle pain, cramps, or weakness
  52. nausea
  53. nervousness
  54. noisy, rattling breathing
  55. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  56. pain in the back, ribs, arms, or legs
  57. pain or burning in the throat
  58. pain or swelling in the arms or legs without any injury
  59. painful or difficult urination
  60. painful, swollen joints
  61. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  62. pounding in the ears
  63. pressure in the stomach
  64. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  65. seizures
  66. sensation of spinning
  67. severe or continuing stomach pain
  68. slow growth in children
  69. slow or fast heartbeat
  70. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or tongue or inside the mouth
  71. swelling of the face, fingers, feet, abdominal or stomach area, or lower legs
  72. tearing
  73. trouble breathing
  74. unexplained weight loss
  75. unusual tiredness or weakness
  76. vomiting
  77. vomiting of material that looks like coffee grounds
  78. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Abnormal fat deposits on the face, neck, and trunk
  2. acne
  3. bruising
  4. dry scalp
  5. increased sweating
  6. large, flat, blue or purplish patches in the skin
  7. lightening of normal skin color
  8. menstrual changes
  9. reddish purple lines on the arms, face, legs, trunk, or groin
  10. redness of the face
  11. small, red or purple spots on the skin
  12. swelling of the stomach area
  13. thin, fragile skin
  14. thinning of the scalp hair

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
