Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. blurred vision
  3. difficulty with moving
  4. dizziness
  5. headache
  6. muscle pain or stiffness
  7. nervousness
  8. pain in the joints
  9. pounding in the ears
  10. slow or fast heartbeat

Less common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. bloody or cloudy urine
  3. body aches or pain
  4. chills
  5. cough
  6. cough producing mucus
  7. diarrhea
  8. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  9. difficulty with breathing
  10. ear congestion
  11. fever
  12. frequent urge to urinate
  13. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  14. loss of appetite
  15. loss of voice
  16. lower back or side pain
  17. muscle aches and pains
  18. muscle cramping
  19. nasal congestion
  20. nausea
  21. pain in the arms or legs
  22. pain, swelling, or redness in the joints
  23. shivering
  24. shortness of breath
  25. sneezing
  26. sore throat
  27. sweating
  28. swollen joints
  29. tightness in the chest
  30. trouble sleeping
  31. unusual tiredness or weakness
  32. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Abdominal or stomach cramps
  2. agitation
  3. blurred vision or other change in vision
  4. bone, joint, or muscle pain (severe)
  5. coma
  6. confusion
  7. convulsions
  8. decreased urine output
  9. decreased vision
  10. depression
  11. difficulty with swallowing
  12. eye pain
  13. eye redness
  14. eye tenderness
  15. heavy jaw feeling
  16. hives
  17. hostility
  18. increased tearing
  19. irregular heartbeats
  20. irritability
  21. itching
  22. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  23. lethargy
  24. loosening of a tooth
  25. muscle cramps in the hands, arms, feet, legs, or face
  26. muscle twitching
  27. nausea
  28. numbness and tingling around the mouth, fingertips, or feet
  29. pain, swelling, or numbness in the mouth or jaw
  30. rapid weight gain
  31. rash
  32. seizures
  33. sensitivity of the eye to light
  34. severe eye pain
  35. stupor
  36. tearing
  37. tremor
  38. unusual pain in the thighs, groin, or hips

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. burning feeling in the chest or stomach
  4. constipation
  5. diarrhea
  6. heartburn
  7. indigestion
  8. red streaks on the skin
  9. stomach discomfort or upset
  10. stuffy nose
  11. swelling, tenderness, or pain at the injection site
  12. tenderness in the stomach area
  13. weakness

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
